What is the difference between MB and MiB?+
MB (megabyte) = 1,000,000 bytes in SI. MiB (mebibyte) = 1,048,576 bytes (1024²). Hard drive makers use MB (decimal); operating systems display MiB (binary).
Why does my 1 TB drive show 931 GB in Windows?+
The drive is 1,000,000,000,000 bytes (decimal TB). Windows shows this as GiB (÷ 1073741824), giving 931.32 GiB — displayed as "GB".
What is Gbit used for?+
Gigabits (Gbit) are used for network and internet speed ratings. 1 Gbit/s = 125 MB/s (decimal).
How many bytes in a GB?+
