The GPA Calculator uses the standard US 4.0 grading scale to compute your Grade Point Average from any combination of courses, letter grades, and credit hours. Add as many courses as you need, assign each a letter grade (A through F with +/− modifiers) and a credit-hour weight, and the tool instantly calculates your cumulative GPA. A results table shows the contribution of each course to the final average.

What GPA scale does this calculator use?+
The standard US 4.0 scale: A=4.0, A-=3.7, B+=3.3, B=3.0, B-=2.7, C+=2.3, C=2.0, C-=1.7, D+=1.3, D=1.0, F=0.0.
What is a good GPA?+
3.0 and above is generally considered good. 3.5 and above is strong. 3.7 and above (A-/A range) is excellent.
How is a weighted GPA calculated?+
Sum of (grade points × credits) for each course, divided by total credit hours. This calculator handles the weighting automatically.
What GPA is required for honours?+
Typically 3.5+ for cum laude, 3.7+ for magna cum laude, 3.9+ for summa cum laude. Requirements vary by institution.
How does a failed course affect GPA?+
An F contributes 0.0 grade points. The credit hours still count in the denominator, pulling down the GPA. Repeating replaces the F at most schools.
